Markus Gritsch build another bedside table alarm clock, the schematic and source code is available here:

recently some vintage bubble displays popped up at various places [1][2], so I felt the urge to build another bedside table alarm clock, this time a really tiny one, roughly the size of an AAA battery.

Check out the video after the break.

    1. Hi Chris, I’m looking forward to the write up. I always enjoy reading about your nice projects :)

  1. it’s amazing to use one of the low energy consumption microcontrollers on earth with one of the more energy hungry displays :) it’s a pitty we can’t find such nice extra-small displays made with new low energy and high luminosity LEDs.

    cool project :)

  2. A-ha! I’ve got a similar 9-digit bubble display lying around (for a calculator, I suppose). Thought of hooking it up to an atMega or atTiny, but couldn’t think what for. Maybe I’ll just make a dual time zone clock, or time+alarm display. Need to have a look at the tech specs of your clock chip…

    Thanks for sharing your ideas!
