Florin posted pictures of his Bus Pirate housing made from a Microchip sample box.
Microchip samples. What a blast from the past. Though we hear they might be sampling to .edu emails if you promise not to resell your samples on eBay.
Here’s some other user-submitted cases.

The sample box is actually from a recent order. They charge you a modest fee like 10$ and you get to place 2 items in your cart.
My sample fees get waived for two orders. Then I have to pay. But they never come in those plastic cases… I always get cardboard :/
The plastic cases come inside the cardboard boxes, they’re used for parts that don’t come in tubes.
I recently got samples using a .de e-mail adress without any trouble.
Nexus is right, parts marked “tray” will come in a plastic case.
I have sampled from Microchip and I haven’t had to pay any fees.
Well I guess some of us have better “ranking” or something like that and they are not required to pay any fee.
