Ril3y sent photos of a new laser-cut case for the Open Logic Sniffer. This case isn’t available yet, but we’ll keep you updated. Ril3y also sells a popular laser-cut case for the Bus Pirate.
You can order the OLS at Seeed Studio for $45, including worldwide shipping. Don’t forget that Seeed now has probe cables for $6 each.

Stewart Allen liked Ril3y’s ideas of using layers of laser cut perspex for a Bus Pirate case, so he designed his own for the Bus Pirate v2go and an AVR Dragon board. You can download the design files at his site.
Thanks for the tip! Here’s a complete list of the Bus Pirate cases we’ve seen so far.
The Bus Pirate is available at Seeed Studio and Adafruit Industries.

Mowcius has a new laser cut acrylic case for Bus Pirate v2go and v3. These will eventually be for sale in the Duinoday shop for about £12 ($17), including international shipping.
Here’s all the cases we’ve cataloged so far. The Bus Pirate v3 is available at Seeed Studio and Adafruit Industries.

RatRanch found a good accessory for Ril3y’s laser-cut Bus Pirate case:
I made some very effective non-slip “feet” for the bottom using tine covers left over from a dishwasher repair kit that I obtained from an Amazon seller for about US $5 with shipping. I’d imagine that similar parts could be found in any well stocked hardware store.
Thanks for the tip! We’ll post our case unboxing and build documentation next week. Don’t forget you can get a case for free by helping program one Bus Pirate with another.

We’ve seen a lot of Bus Pirate housings: mint tins, shrink tube, development boards, and laser cut acrylic. Now we can add a 3D-printed case to the list. Gatsu printed a Bus Pirate v2go case with a Makerbot. You can download the public domain design files at Thingiverse.
Thanks to LeissKG for the tip!

teslafreak posted this picture of Ril3y’s laser cut case for the Bus Pirate in the forum:
I bought two of these, a black one and a clear one. They recently arrived, and look great. The construction is fantastic. They are also possible to take apart without tools, which is awesome. Here’s a pic (though my camera isn’t great). The black case looks pretty opaque in this picture, but it is because it still had the protective film on it. They also have a bit of weight, which helps to keep the bus pirate from shifting around too much.
We’ll document the complete build process soon.

Back in January we posted about Ril3y’s laser cut Bus Pirate case. Due to a Paypal issue it wasn’t possible to complete an order, but now it seems to be working.
Synthetos Laboratories (Ril3y’s store) now lists them in clear ($12.99), translucent red, and translucent black (both $14.99). Up to three cases can be shipped within the US for $5.95, international shipping is $13.95.

honken make a Bus Pirate case from a mint tin:
I used a mints tin can, very similar i size to the ubiquitous Altoids variant. I’ve got a v2go and it’s fastened with some adhesive tack, so it’s removable. I could also fit one of those mini breadboard … as well as some jumper cables.
We use adhesive tack for everything. Get an SVG of the case sticker.
Get an assembled Bus Pirate v3 for $30, including worldwide shipping.

W1N9Zr0 posted this full-featured Bus Pirate case in the forum:
Here is my take on a Bus Pirate case. It’s made of a PS2 game case and integrates two breadboards, the bus pirate and an A23 12v battery for PIC programming.
Flickr photoset. Be sure to check out the forum thread if you’re interested in PIC programming with the Bus Pirate, W1N9Zr0 has successfully programmed a few PICs with custom software that uses the raw2wire binmode.

Gatsu made a unique DIY Bus Pirate case for a v2go:
Here is something I cooked up a while as a case for my BP v2.go. Its a DV tape case. The inside is 46mm x 68mm so it would fit a v3 as well.
The board is fixed to the bottom with a double layer of double sided tape. The cut outs were just done with a scalpel as the material is quite soft.

pppd wanted an quick case for the Bus Pirate, and decided to entomb it in heat shrink tube using a hair dryer. Fantastic idea, thanks for the tip! More photos on Flickr.

Lots of us have been waiting for an update on Ril3y’s laser cut Bus Pirate case. Synthetos Laboratories (Ril3y’s store) now lists them in clear ($12.99), translucent red, and translucent black (both $14.99). Up to three cases can be shipped within the US for $5.95, international shipping is $13.95.
Good luck with this project Ril3y, we’re hug fans of this case. We’ll post more pictures and updates as soon as we get our hands on one.

Maff^ posted some pictures of a Bus Pirate case made from a Dallas/Maxim sample box in the forum. Lots of people have a few of these little boxes, this is a great way to recycle one.
I decided to create my own housing. I had a small transparent box laying around where the BPv3 fitted in perfectly. It’s a box from Dallas Semiconductors / Maxim that contained some DS1820 samples I ordered a couple of years back. Using a Dremel (clone) I created notches for the USB connector and the pin header. A couple of days later I also added some ‘light pipes’ because those red LEDs are pretty bright, maybe even a little to bright :). I also tried out the STK500 firmware and successfully programmed an AtTiny2313.
Thanks for the tip!

Seeed Studio had cases made for the Bus Pirate v3, available immediately for $2.50.

Ril3y made a fantastic laser etched Plexiglas case for his Bus Pirate v3 with a command cheat-sheet etched onto the bottom. There’s more pictures of this awesome case in his Flickr photo stream.
Bus Pirate preorder 2 should ship this week. There’s still a few (<30) extra preorder 2 Bus Pirates at Seeed Studio, get one while you can.
