Dr. Ayman Shalaby over at Electronics Lab has posted an article describing EGYDuino, an Arduino compatible board that can be build using home process:
EGYDuino is a DIY Arduino clone made on a single sided PCB board. It’s simple and cheap to build using home PCB fabrication methods and it’s 100% compatible with Arduino.
Why is C4 *underneath* the MEGA8?
Are you meant to install this from the bottom? Kind of kills the whole ‘single layer’ ideal….
think you need to use a socket for the atmega’s :D
not really, single layer just means it is easier to make the pcb because it only has tracks on one side
Just like a Metaboard, only more complicated and without the prototyping area.

@Mike
not like Metaboard , It is a complete arduino board with serial monitor , which is not active in Metaboard

Thanks Ayman for your briliant project. I always think to use chip FT232RL or similar (complicated because so tiny as interface ATmega 328P-PU). I hope I am going to build your design using ATmega 8 as interface. See you.
Thank you Fardhon , I appreciate your comment.
Your welcome and waiting for the other projects, wassalam.
Here is my EgyDuino V1.1 , working with home made LCD nokia 3310 , I am waiting for my PCBs for ver1.2 from E-Lab
