Bryan pointed us to the Pinoccio. It’s an Arduino compatible Wireless platform. It’s based on the ATMega128rfa1 microcontroller with an 802.15.4 compliant radio built in. It also features a LiPo charger and battery, making it easy to recharge over USB. The project is open source and hosted on github.

That’s pretty cool. Nice that it has a LiPol setup included. There are a few decent WIFI or Similar RF Wireless enabled Arduino compatible boards starting to make there way through.(The Ciseco XinoRF is one I have just got to use and help integrate into Ciseco’s promising EVE project which is due to start its Alpha phase soon – Also Kickstarter funded) Its with out a doubt the natural progression of the whole Arduino system.
That’s going to be yet another Kickstarter campaign I am getting involved with for sure!

Funny enough, the picture of the prototypes above was taken in a tiny coffee shop in Manhattan, a few hours before we did the NYC tech crawl with the Dangerous Prototypes crew during the Open Hardware Summit a couple months ago. We were walking all over Brooklyn looking for a pub, but ended up at Hall of Science instead. :)
