Little Wire Python library

Adam ported Little Wire’s library to Python. The library was already available in C, C++, and Processing, and now Python users can enjoy the little hack tool as well.

Little Wire is multi-featured USB controlled open source hardware tool packed in a minimal form factor designed by Ihsan Kehribar. Even though it has minimal form factor, it’s packed with full of features. There aren’t any SMT components involved, so it is very suitable for beginners to assemble.

Ishan donated 2 of them to the open 7400 Logic Competition.

    Couple of things to mention

    This python library is for V1.0 firmware. Adam is thinking of porting the library according to the V1.1 firmware soon as we talk at the forum.

    There is also a new Ruby library out there for the Little Wire. You can find this library at: Jenna Fox from kindly ported my C library to Ruby. That library uses V1.1 version architecture.

    Sigh… Whatever happened to Perl? Perl seems to have been deprecated by the “New Generation”. Bad move IMHO.

      Perl does what its name states well: Practical Extraction and Reporting Language. It has powerful text processing capabilities, but it should stay far, far away from a microcontroller.

        Interesting you take this position Steve. I feel the power of native regular expressions in Perl to parse and process I/O, Perl’s inherent high precision math, extensibility, and the plethora of Perl modules available for I/O and Internet/Web connectivity through (e.g.) CPAN make Perl an excellent candidate for micro-controller interfacing. Just my opinion though.
