The Bus Pirate V4 is still a work in progress. If you want a reliable and fully tested tool, we still recommend the v3. It is actively developed and will be manufactured for the foreseeable future. Development on the V4 will continue, and we will let you know when we think it is the go-to hardware.

Maybe… We don’t currently have them in the PCB store, but we could. We could also put them as Seeed I guess.

He was using a normal soldering tehnique, with a 50W temperature controllable soldering iron with a fine pitch “cone” tip I think its 1mm. He also used a fine pitch solder wire 60/40 leaded 0.5mm, flux and a solder wick to clean up the joints..
Ian doesn’t like soldering fumes, so he uses a fume extractor attached to his soldering iron, its the strange looking tube that goes parallel to the iron…
BTW, in this video he explains the equipment used as well, disregard the first part when he uses hot air to remove the IC.
