We continue working on the Bus Pirate Edu Kit documentation. We touched up some render setting for the new models, and started rendering the final front page images. The image above being the final render for the first exercise.
In preparation for our month log trip to Shenzhen we packed up all the equipment and parts we’ll need there.
What are you using to render these images? Do you need any help?
we model in sketchup, and use kerkythea to render. Help is always appreciated. Could you point out the problems you see with the render?
Oh, no I wasn’t suggesting there was anything wrong with the render. I’m interested in the process you use so I can make my own renders for projects. — Are the SketchUp files available somewhere or is it possible to get them??

here are our tutorials on how to get yourself started with Egale PCB design to 3d rendering.. If you get stuck on anything please feel free to ask in the forums.

This is very interesting but wouldn’t it be easier to actually build the setup and then take a high resolution picture?
Seems like that would save you a lot of time.
perhaps it would be easier, but we still needed the top down view for the documentation , which you can’t really do perfectly with a camara, and a real setup. and since we had to have the models anywhay, why not try and do a nice render, for presentation… + it’s repeatable, and we can easily take pics in different angles etc…

I’m going to have to re-do the schematics etc now, to get them up to your standard.
