Here’s some new and extended project interviews from Bay Area Maker Faire 2012. These took place at the setup, faire, and after party. Generally a few people bring projects to show us, so we interviewed them right at our own table.

- MicroVNC – LCD controlled through an AVR based Virtual Network Client

- The IOIO board – IO expander for Android devices via Bluetooth or USB
- Nerf Gun Counter – Bullet counter for a Nerf Gun
- Digit_Grid – Huge 7 segment-based display
- NES Top Loader P V1 – Top Loader Nintendo based portable entertainment system
- Geiger Counter
- C64 Bass Guitar
- Maker Faire Badge – ARM based LCD badge
- Droidalyzer – Wireless Alcohol breathalyser for Android devices
- Texting Trapper – SMS activity meter
Some were in yesterday’s video, but we put all the new stuff first. Some of the repeated interviews also have ‘unseen footage’ that we couldn’t fit into the how-to video.

Great to get a chance to talk to you and Skot at Maker Faire.
There seems to be a plethora of LPC1343 Cortex M3 projects here recently. But in case anyone is interested in another, I will be putting all the files and code for the M3 LCD devboard (shown as a MF badge in your video) up pretty soon (check http://dorkbotpdx.org/blog/scott_d as soon as I fix a couple of little issues with the board and get a complete BOM together). It uses a Nokia 6101 LCD which is cheap ($3 delivered from ebay) and quite nice quality (132×162 TFT). A dorkbotpdx colleague now has the necessary connector available in his web store (http://store.fungizmos.com/items/426) so it makes for an inexpensive display solution.
