CoolRunner-II XC2C64A CPLD development boards are back in stock at Seeed Studio. CPLDs are programmable logic gate arrays which allow you to build custom logic devices simply by programing them.
Get the CoolRunner-II development board for $15 and XC9572XL dev-board for $15.
Is there any chance a 128 macrocell Coolrunner will be supported? Xilinx is discontinuing the 32 and 64 macrocell chips, I believe.
I think the 128 is in a much larger package. I had not heard about the smaller chips being discontinued, I thought they were quite popular at the low end.
Ok, I re-read the web site, and I misunderstood. They have discontinued *some* 32 and 64 Macrocell CPLDs…when I did a little more reading, I found out that there are equivalent replacement chips. Sorry for the confusion.
