Hard part is getting the initial coupon code for a free PCB to build – he did the easy part – j/k j/k – Good job soldering the surface mount components Markus!
Why not make the leds and the header on the other side ?
@Marcin Domański: You are free to do this, the PCB has also footprints for the LEDs on the other side, and the through hole header can of course be mounted both ways. However, I like the look of chips and fine soldered parts, so I prefer to have them visible on top :)
oh yeah. i got the pcb too and thought that was a great thing you can solder it that way:) and was wondering why didn’t you. ascetics is a good reason ;)

One question: Has anyone an idea why R5 in the corresponding schematic http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate_v3.6 has a value of 2k instead of like being the same as the other 10k resistors from RN3?
Its extra large pull up for one wire devices that are bus powered.
