I have a few different LCD display (20×4, 16×2 etc). I also have the same problem as MickM – the “Write test characters” missed quite a few characters (in the first 16 characters) due I think to the error in the HD44780.c – something like “bpDelayMS(15);//delay 15ms” would work I think.
