That group of DIP switches just screams to be replaced with a CPLD. Given the cost of switches, it would probably be cheaper too.
Yeah, I used DIP switches at first because originally it was only supposed to be for me. I’ve been playing with a prototype that would get rid of the dip switches. Of course that adds to the cost and it’s already a higher cost than I originally wanted to be, so we’ll see how it turns out.
Uhh. Isn’t this getting a bit expensive and complex from the original idea of a cheap trick to allow an Arduino to program other AVR chips using ISP? You can get dedicated AVR ISP dongles for this price and you don’t need to have to reprogram an Arduino to run it.
