TomKeddie built a Smoke Tester v1 free PCB.  It’s a board designed to safely power your prototypes, and check if they have a short somewhere using just about any available supply.

  2. yes to have one of those to test pcb after having been populated with the TM220A

  • langwadt: a HC14 is a bad choice for an xtal oscillator, the unbuffered non-Schmitt trigger HCU04 is much better for that application
