Oho-Elektronik.de has a couple intersting CPLD and FPGA development boards with a bread-board friendly DIL pinout on the bottom.
- Xilinx XC9572XL CPLD
- Xilinx CoolRunner-II CPLD
- Altera MAX 3064A CPLD
- Xilinx XC3S200 FPGA, the smaller version of the chip on the Logic Sniffer
All the boards include an oscillator and power supply. They don’t look open source, but it could be good for a remake.

Any idea about their prices?
The CPLDs are 20 euros, the FPGA is 40 and 60, but there seem to be lots of FPGA options.

You are right, these are not open source, but the schematics and component placements are available at the end of each user’s manual.
