voidptr shared a CPLD development board he made a few years ago:
i used few times some xilinx xc9572xl with pleasure (and few other sizes).
i like the family 5V tolerance, so i can plug that everywhere…

Is there a design for a CPLD breakout board for Dangerous Prototypes? That would be cool for getting into CPLD world!
Sure thing, we have two dev boards (XC9500XL and CoolRunner-II) and quick-start tutorials to match: http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Main_Page#In_development
Oh yeah, now I remember! Being away for a while is bad for memory. :(
Looking at the above picture and thinking of some issues I’ve dealt with myself, at this point I’m thinking it would be really nice if manufacturers started selling “large gap” breadboards.
Although I guess you could create one yourself with two smaller breadboards, a backplate, and some tape – but something adjustable in 0.1″ increments would be pretty cool.
lol my old proto made the news ! :o)
i used that setup for developing all the software side and the ttl circuit logic
used in the application, there was also another proto board for relays and 120v controls … after all was working fine, a real pcb was produced and, for the CPLD part i only had to program few xilinx ics and push them in their final pcb socket :o)
