  1. Is this legal? Doesn’t ATMEL own hold sort of intellectual property over their micro-controller designs? I really have no idea – this just occurred to me. Maybe someone knows more about this…

  2. @Robin, so it is your opinion that if they have a core programmed that emulates an Arduino (never mind the bootloader), which is essentially an ATMega168/328 micro-controller, then it is illegal?

    1. @ Drone: No, I don’t.
      I think only the hardware, that means the essential wiring, is real property of Atmel’s. Emulation isn’t illegal, that’s my opinion (I didn’t study law, but that’s how I know it)
