Bus Pirate v4 works fine without a driver installation. Also, rather than download any of the listed third-party terminal programs, you can use ‘screen /dev/cu.usbmodem* 115200’ and it works just fine. If you have multiple USB serial devices, you might want to change the device file name appropriately.
