Cheap surface mount prototyping stickers

Protoflex makes a bunch of stickers with surface mount part footprints. The sticker goes on a protoboard, and then a surface mount part is soldered to the sticker. It’s a cool system, but very pricy. We covered them previously.

Kelvin found a cheaper alternative:

I have previously mentioned about protoflex. Unfortunately, it was too expensive. Recently, I came across a similar solution from Sunhayato. Price is much more reasonable. It doesn’t come with adhesive like protoflex, but double-sided tape isn’t that expensive :)

  1. Cheaper that Protoflex, but still quite expensive.

A sheet with 14 pcs of soic8 adapters is $11 – almost 1$ each compared to just below 8 cents per piece for for a real pcb (0.5 mm thickness, non-green color, gold plating)…..
