Unfortunatly the bandwith is pretty narrow, especially on the 70cm unit I would have expected the whole amateur band and not only the ism band.

It probably uses the signal strength output of an ISM module.
After a closer look it does not seem to fit into the open source strategy of dangerousprototypes/seeedstudio. All software and technical information seem to be closed.
It is a neat gadget, but the closedness is a big downer for me.

Yes, it is a pretty little bugger, I find the power switch on the bottom a bit awkward, I doubt it will stand straight, besides this it looks great !
I had one thought about cases for further devices: What about defining a case or two for and then design the boards to fit the cases ? Most of the designs are the other way round, first you design the board then you try to find case. The other way round it is much easier…
Yes, as time goes one we’re realized this :) I’d like to standardize on a board size and hole placement, as well as a grid for test and programming points. Then I’d like to make a CPLD-based test board with a grid of attachments for pogo pins. It would have a fixed programmer connection, and a uC that can play test patterns from a SD card or PC USB etc.
Lots of fun ideas, but I’ll shut up now, getting too much off-topic !
