Closer look at a direct sequence spread spectrum signal

Sebastian Westerhold draws our attention to his article taking a closer look at a direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signal. Sebastian is holder of amateur radio license KF5OBS and is interested in experimenting with pseudorandom number generators. In his article he describes the generation of a pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) using a linear feedback shift register (LFSR). A LFSR is a shift register of which the input bit is a linear function of its previous state. The above photo depicts a pseudorandom number generator (PRNG) made up from a a CMOS 4015 shift register and a 4030 XOR gate.
