Scheme-It: Digi-Key online schematic editor

Digi-Key has an online schematic editor known as Scheme-It. “Scheme-it is an online schematic and diagramming tool that allows anyone to design and share electronic circuit diagrams. The tool includes a comprehensive electronic symbol library and an integrated Digi-Key component catalog that allows for a wide range of circuit designs. Additionally, a built-in bill of materials manager is provided to keep track of parts used in a design. Once a schematic drawing is complete, users can export it to an image file or share it via email with others. Scheme-it works natively in all major web browsers without requiring the use of any plugins.”

You can startup the online app by clicking here. In order to save or share your design, you must be registered with Digi-Key.

    1. On my WindowsXP PC in Firefox just drag and drop the parts, right click to orient them them, in the drawing pane click the ends of the parts and drag wires around. Very intuitive. But I’m having problems with connection bubbles appearing at the junctions of wires and parts.

Maybe it doesn’t work on an iPad because there is no Flash on Apple’s “i” products? I don’t know, I don’t own any Apple stuff. I did have to enable scripting in the NoScript plug-in to Firefox to get it to work on my PC.

      1. I tried on a PC: it does not rely on a Flash, schematic sheet is SVG based. So digikey developers may add iPad support easily and it’ll become a great tool for sketching electronics sitting in a train. I should send them email about that.
