In this lightning talk from the recently concluded 28C3 Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin, Aram Bartholl presents updated information on the topic of dead drops. Dead drops are a means of anonymously conveying data using USB drives physically embedded in public spaces. (See this post from 2010.) This talk also highlights the existence of WiFi dead drops as well as “live drops” which are anonymous data exchange parties.
You can get more information on this phenomena as well as a world map of drop sites at deaddrops.com.
I hope you all keep your antivirus and spyware up to date so your computer doesn’t get a sexually transmitted disease.

wow. sneakernet re-invented in the day of the virus/trojan and kiddy porn.
It would be easy for cops to do stings for the illegal porn stuff. Cement a usb into a brick wall, then run a wire through the wall to a computer on the other side to monitor what files are being taken and left and catch whomever leaves or takes anything illegal!
Dennis,
They would get around that by using encryption.
