Class D amplifier assembled

NBitWonder built a class-D amplifier

Class-D amplifier is a highly efficient amplifier that operates its output devices as switches instead of as variable resistors.  We posted a highly experimental version of this project last November, and it met with a surprising amount of positive feedback from the DIY community.  Therefore, we developed it as a formal project.

  1. Aren’t there ChipAmp type clones out there by now that are Class-D? Yes, with analog input and on-die A/D & PWM? Hmmm… maybe only for headphone levels?

  2. Nice!

I really want to learn more about Class-D, especially for low current draw and reasonable output power with low distortion. … if only there were more time in the day!
