Any chance of, for the protocols that support it, having multiple devices on the same bus so that simultaneous multi-device use would be supported?
This could be implemented as jumpers or pads to bridge with solder.
The demoboard ( http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Kung:_Bus_Pirate_demo_board ) has the 1wire devices on the same bus. The I2C device all have their own connection. Most I2C device have the same address so it was (nearly) impossible for us to find interesting devices that will peacefully co-exist on the same bus. The connection can be bridged however.
I2C devices in SOIC form typically have at least a couple dedicated address pins that you can either ground or pull high, FWIW.
We’re going to try to get this one out, it was popular at Maker Faire. Some devices are really annoying, like EEPROMs that respond to a dozen or more addresses. We’ve yet to figure it out. Maybe SMD solder jumpers to a central I2C bus would be useful, then you could experiment on your own.
It seems that I have a board on the way, but sourcing some of the parts looks hard. Digikey has some of them, but others are just not available.
