
We’re releasing a stalled or abandoned prototype every few days while Seeed Studio is on break. We put a lot of work into these projects, but they’re still missing major components and testing. If an abandoned project sparks your interest, we may have PCBs to get you started.
The goal of this project was to make an Arduino-basedĀ Daft Punk table controller. It reads animations from an SD card and plays them on a large 5×5 LED grid. Animations can beĀ made and downloaded online.
We’ve made several different drivers for our Daft Punk table in the past:
- SD card Daft Punk table at Instructables
- Internet graffiti wall at Hack a Day (ethernet/web enabled)
This design may still be produced. Either as a through-hole kit, or a different SMD version.

I’m guessing the output buffer chips are supposed to be ULN2803A’s? There’s no mention of what they’re meant to be on the schematic or the wiki…
Yes, they are ULN2803A and 595s.
hell, i’ve been working on this since one year. I’m nearl finnished and now you’re releasing controller board. arghs….but i learned a lot ;)
But I can’t find anything that would analyse an audio signal? Did i miss anything or is this just a led box?
This is just the LED box. An audio analyzer would be a great idea. Any suggestions?
that’s the hardest part. i tried 2 things: – using beatdetect function in processing(works well, but processing has listening access to the soundcard. USB is needed)
– reading the voltage from the sound(like a vu-meter) works but I’m looking for something better. maybe something like a spectrum analyzer
