So is this distributor actually paying some sort of royalty back to DP (unlike Sparkfun)?
OSCsys bought genuine Seeed Studio hardware. They are an official distributor :)
SparkFun now pays me personally (the person, not DP the business) a small royalty for their version of the Bus Pirate. I’m not involved in the process (manufacturing, quality control) there like I am at Seeed though.
well congratulations (in both cases!). I’m glad to hear that Sparkfun is throwing something back to you, Ian. I was pretty disappointed when I had previously read that they didn’t plan on contributing at all. . .I realize licensing didn’t require them to do this, but in the open source community, if there isn’t good-will. . .what’s the point.
