Here’s some more info on the new PIC microcontrollers with configurable logic cells. felix52 tipped us to a Configurable Logic Cell Tool from Microchip:
The intention of this User’s Guide is to assist the reader in becoming acquainted with the Configurable Logic Cell (CLC) Configuration Tool. It will explain how to setup the
tool and configure it with an applicable example of creating a Manchester encoder. This document will help the reader become familiar with the purpose and functionality of the CLC module and be able to use the CLC Configuration Tool with ease.

I tried to order chips that have this clc on board, but they weren’t available at mouser :(

The Microchip web site only shows the PIC16F1507 for sale with all the other chips showing as future products. The web site shows that they offer samples of this chip.
On the Microchip site, there is a revised version showing “Last Updated: 09/06/2011” of “PIC10F32X Microcontroller Product Overview” which still indicates that these chips will have DDS. The web page for these chips only mentions NCO.
