You might be interested in my icd3 connector. Its a little cleaner and easier to transport. Although in hind sight , Microchip sells a mfg one similar to mine for 10$ or so .

PD. I like the “pic’quéhniou” pronunctiation xP. It’s quite difficult for foreigners to pronounce the ñ. It has a much “stronger” pronunctiation than most people think.
I have put in my time learning spanish ;) But should I say que like Kay (as in the normal spanish what, ?que?), or like Key? I think it is PIC-kane-yo, but sometimes I say PIC-keen-yo.
I thought it would be pic-KWAYN-yo (or pic-QUEHN-yo), but I couldn’t talk to anyone when I was in Guatemala…
It’s much more like “PIC-ken-yo”, pronouncing ken as you’d pronounce the name of barbie’s boyfriend. But the “ñ” sound is a bit particular. It’s stronger than n-y.
Oh and I’ve always wanted to know if PICqueño comes from pequeño (small) or if you chose the -eño suffix to denote pertenence or relationship to PIC’s.
If you called it PICqueño because it’s pequeño, then you should create a mini version called “PICqueñito or PICqueñín”
You should really use sensible colors for wiring :) I prefer to use red for + and black for gnd, this makes it easy to check the wiring very quick.
For testing I also use my DMM to measure resistance between vcc and gnd (also swap the terminals!)

What is your procedures on antistatic measures. I watched the video where you replaced the PIC32 and saw nothing in particular.
I just don’t work that confidently. My hands shake, sweat pours out of my brows and I bridge SOIC chips on scrap electronics. Do you have a failure rate, and if so how often is static the final suspect?
Once in a great while I lose a chip, and it might be due to static, but it could also be poor soldering. I haven’t had a power-up failure due to “unknown” reasons in years though. Most modern microcontrollers and chips have very good static protection on the pins.
