The Fedora Electronics Lab includes design tools for ASIC Analog Circuit Design and Simulation, ASIC Layout, DRC and LVS, Digital Simulation and Verification, RTL and logic synthesis design flows, Circuit and PCB Layout, Micro Controller (µC) Programming and Embedded Systems Development, CAD Tools, and Project Management, Peer Review and budget tracking.
This Linux distro is a Fedora Spin, which is an alternate version of Fedora tailored for various types of users via hand-picked application sets and other customizations.

First time I’ve heard about this distribution. Have to check it out!

this is like a Fedora, very easy to install (copies); then, if you miss an application, you can use FC14 repos like a normal Fedora -I have been using it since Oct, 2010, dual booting with a Mandriva, and never had issues: the only tiny flaw I found was it had no text processor -and there is none in the release anounce- except vym’s one (vym seems to be an idea manager?): I added abiword and lyx for my nephew, and Ooffice for me from their repos, once installed).
PS It can be easily installed on an USB disk or flash drive (tried both, the external disk remaining cheaper)
Not being comfortable with Linux, I tried installling this on a VMWare virtual machine (and sharing my Windows Kicad files). Of course, it wouldn’t share a folder staright off…
Enter vmware tools – nope, it wants a header file. Use yum to download header file – still can’t get that share working. Apparently I need to downgrade the kernel (!)
At boot time, specify kernel v3.3 whatever – and now the system complains about initqueue, and crashes to a debug shell.
All this from a “Ready To Go” Fedora Spin image. I’ll let them off the hook for the VMWare compatability, but the kernel downgrade / crash is inexcuseable.
