Bus Pirate Manual link does not show much information

What does the Bus Pirate Manual link supposed to show? Currently the link http://http://dangerousprototypes.com/bus-pirate-manual/ takes me to a page that has marketing information.

I can get most details from the wiki. But, I am curious to know whether I am missing something or whether the page is under development.

Sorry if this questions was asked before.

Raja Balu

Thanks Ian. There is no hurry. Get to it when you could. I can find all I am looking for in the site.

So, what is the status of this?  This question was posted in August, and its now mid May.  I'd sure like to have the manual, especially since there are various links pointing to this.

Every scrap of information, features, hardware, software, chip demos etc is to be found at http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate as previously posted. I'm not sure what the problem is?

I suppose its not a huge problem, however when you see is link:  Bus Pirate manual in a few different places and it takes you to a marketing page, its is a wee-bit frustrating.  It would be nice to have it in one concise document to put in my collection of manuals for the various toys I've amassed for offline viewing.  I guess I'm old-school, but I like to have a manual in the traditional sense without having to navigate around all the wiki style pages.  Call it me being lazy if you want but I wouldn't have even posted this if I didn't see that Ian had replied stating that it was a day or two off back in August. Yes, I am perfectly capable of sifting through the pages in the docs, but if the manual is planned, I'd like to get it.  If so, I am curious as to when it is going to happen, that's all.  No big deal.

I'd like a full manual as well. It's really nice to have datasheets for every component in my parts bin, manuals for all my equipment and general references all synchronized to my lab computer, iPad and Kindle. (The iPad is especially a great tool considering you can annotate in GoodReader.)

For example, I referenced my Xprotolab a lot when I was just starting out. It would be great to have the same ability with the Bus Pirate. :)

Ian a downloadable PDF file would be easier to look-up and search (from e-reader/tablet). Any plans for making such a thing available.

And you promised that you will update the site in few days ;). Also looking forward for more of your videos. My six year old is missing your smile.

I am new here and this seems like a very misleading and long-lasting problem.

Everywhere in http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus ... 1_tutorial it links to this page, and from that page after scouring it for hidden links, I assume the manual either doesn't exist or actually is the thing that references it. Or maybe it's not actually http://dangerousprototypes.com/bus-pirate-manual/ , but maybe the manual is http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate . But that page doesn't say it is. And from that page, I'm directed to follow the 101 and eventually the 102 tutorial, but from there, I'm back to my original problem looking for information that's referenced and promised by name, but doesn't actually exist!

It's like talking trying to ask a Fundamentalist Christian where God comes from... All you get out of it is circular reasoning, false hopes, and frustrated!!! LOL.

Anyway,

Thank you for the pages that do exist. I'm following them "to the tee" to try and learn all I can about this nice new device I purchased. I just hope this issue gets some attention, because it's really misleading.  Perhaps the current pages that reference a missing manual can be cached, edited, and replaced once the manual comes back to save us.

Thanks,

Rich

The Bus Pirate manual and chip demonstrations may be found at http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate - I believe it was moved to the Wiki so that everyone could update it and it didn't have to wait for Ian to have time.
