Logic Sniffer: Windows 7 keyboard failure after update

In rare cases USB keyboards may stop working under Windows 7 after an update of the Open Logic Sniffer. This appears to be a Windows 7 problem.

Solution

From a discussion in the forum it appears the solution is to replace usb.inf:

  1. For some reason the file C:\Windows\usb.inf vanished after the Logic Sniffer update
  2. Recover it from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usb.inf_amd64_neutral_153b489118ee37b8\usb.inf (or the correct processor for your system)
  3. Force a new device detection in Device Manager, the keyboard will be detected
