RS232 interface module for most pulse type coin acceptor or

Postby ian » Mon Dec 17, 2012 3:22 am

Greetings,

Do you have open source hardware similar to WF-700-RELAY. Its a RS232 interface module for most pulse type coin acceptor or bill acceptor products.

Further details at http://www.waferstar.com/downloads/WF-7 ... manual.pdf

or at
http://www.waferstar.com/en/PULSE-PC.html

I'm sorry, we have not done a project like that yet. I'll post it in the forum though in case someone shares an interest in it.

I would think the time consuming bit would be programming the microcontroller to emulate the firmware.

Yep, the hardware looks pretty straightforward. The protocol doesn't look all that tricky, but somebody would have to be willing to do it!

Pulse type coin acceptors are pretty simple. I would imagine you could implement something like this with a Teensy and an hour in the Arduino IDE.

On the other hand, I have a couple of programmable coin mechs that I have no idea how to communicate with, so that will be a reverse engineering project for me and my Logic Boost... I won't get around to that any time soon...
