I was also going to suggest maybe the people that voted for the split donate $1.25 each via paypal gift to whoever is splitting the boxes up, since they will be paying double shipping, $15 for the big box and $15 for the components box.

Thoughts?

I hadn't voted yet, I've been mulling it over (and I currently have the box). I think that given the state of the list, I'd vote to not split, wrap up the passing of the box for the current list, and do a split upon list completion. That way people that have been waiting still get a shot at the box in its current state.

Let me know what to do, I've got the box now, and if it needs a repack and ship, I'll be happy to be the one to do it. Or I can send it on to the next guy (I have his shipping info) and he can handle it. Either way, just let me know. PS... I might sneak a few surprise additions into the box before it ships.

you missed my 'NO' but its cool :) It should be on its way to the next person tomorrow or Saturday (I ran out of packing tape, or should I say - my wife gave it to her mom to pack her moving boxes, and she didn't return it, lol).

I vote YES.

However, I think that we should wait until the box completes it's round, then split it evenly, rather than into large and small. I think that a box of pcbs and solderables alone would have a higher chance to sputter out. I also agree with touch that we should take up a collection for the splitter.

Changing my vote to NO.
Let's run it through the current list of people and then split it.
Seems more fair that way.

ducksauz;

Go get some coffee then come back and look at four posts above yours and you'll see that that's what we will do anyway. :)
Besides that you can't change your vote for president can you? lol

But not all precincts are reporting yet. :p
Anyway, I'll go with the will of the people.
Split now, split at the end of the run, or don't split.

I agree with letting it finish its rounds before splitting.

not republican(or democrat for that matter), just tired of the status-quot, it seems like nearly all politicians don't have any common sense(replaced by agenda). and we are looking at least 2 more years of BS. NH has a history of standing up to BS, unfortunately "live free or die" does not mean the same thing it once did :(

I could go on forever, but i'd like not to ruin my afternoon.

more on topic, when the split happens, it might help to classify the type of parts boxes. maybe one for micros + devkits + arduino type stuff. one for RF stuff, one for mechanical type stuff, etc. and not limiting a person to one list only.

Registered republican, but I feel the same. I'm a republican but at heart I think like a libertarian.

Back to the topic, So you think that we should have more than two boxes? I think we should start with a small components box and work are way up in size of boxes. ducksauz had a good idea on the box sizes and price.
