I set a max bid of either $0.99 or $1.26 depending on the item on about 300 auctions over the course of a few days and in about 25 of them I was the winner.

Amazing! And the trickle of random stuff will be a treat for weeks to come!

It feels like it is Xmas everyday for me, I ordered a bunch of stuff too from ebay, but you never know what you will find in your mailbox !

Last week I got jumpers !!!

Well these actually got a 12MHz crystal mounted at the bottom of the single sided pcb. It's really incredible to see a 4 port hub with so few parts. I've got a some 4-port hubs that are a few years old and they have 4 or 5 ic's and more like 50 discretes in them.

Ah, that looks a bit nicer than mine - it had no external components, and looks like it was soldered by a blind man. Care to share the seller so I can buy one that works? Ta.

I just picked this up at my local surplus shop. The gallon size bag contains mostly these values: 470uF, 220uF, 100uF, 47uF, 22uF and 10uF. I estimate the number of caps totals around 450-500, I'll take inventory later. I saw it and had to pick it up. It's funny because I was just pricing parts for one of my projects and I needed 470uF and 100uF smd caps so this works out perfectly for me and saves me the shipping time.

That binary explorer board looks pretty cool!

It will be interesting if you compare both type of module !

While getting a Garmin Nuvi 50LM GPS for a upcoming roadtrip I couldn't resist also picking up a 199 Ringgit (USD 63) Android Tablet just to see if something priced at a 1/10th of an iPad actually is usable at all.

It turned out that it is not a total piece of shit so my wife adopted before I had a real chance of actually testing it properly. :-) or :-( Don't know what smilie that is best here...

I have to go back and get one for me as well.

Operate System: O.S Android 4.0.4 @ Ice Cream Sandwich
Chip: All Winner A13 Processor, up to 1.5GHz, 512MB DDR3

I recently bought this same "cheap" tablet. I thought I will use it on my wall as a huge light switch to manage all my light in the living room and kitchen.

After playing around a while I think that except the viewing angle of the display (which is total crap) the tablet is amazingly usable.

Even when I just switch lights on and off occasionally the battery lasted 10 days!! I was shocked to see this with a cheap Chinese pad.

I also use a Nexus 7 which is of course better, but I have to say the cheap one is nice, too. :)
Web platform todo: bluetooth firmware update, some kind of database, GLCD.
Working: RS485 connection, NTP RTC time sync, I2C for portexpanders, Software PWM with timer interrupt, SPI flash(32mbit)

I just 'bought' the last fan controller from the Free PCB store:
http://dangerousprototypes.com/store/in ... cts_id=120

And a pile of stuff from a friend for the price of a drink. Some ferrites, fuses, resettable fuses, capacitors, rectifiers, 1K resistors, 12VAC power supply, headlamp, and a few 19V power supplies that aren't pictured.

We had talked about these a while ago, I'm glad to hear these are usable (although, like Sandman333 I wouldn't expect much from the screens).
