Cheap Frequency Counter based on MSP430

Postby SUF » Sun Jun 09, 2013 3:52 pm

I needed a small, cheap frequency counter. It would be the frequency display of my planed signal generator.
Here is the properties of the project:
- Cheap: The component total should be below $5
- Using TI's MSP430 line of MCUs what I'm learning now
- Able to measure till 10MHz
- Using LED display
- Able to calibrate - achieve maximum +-10Hz error at 10MHz

Here is the result:

Feedback and suggestions greatly appreciated.
