I don't want to play with hacksaw or wetsaw now, not something you want to do in an apartment.

Ok, so if I want to create a board with size like 3x7cm, the cost will be like 5x10 cm?

Wanted to add this..It's a cost breakdown for dolar/area

Code: Select all
`5x5cm   = \$10 = 0.4\$/cm^25x10cm  = \$25 = 0.5\$/cm^25x15cm  = \$35 = 0.466\$/cm^25x20cm  = \$45 = 0.45\$/cm^210x10cm = \$25 = 0.25\$/cm^210x15cm = \$70 = 0.466\$/cm^210x20cm = \$80 = 0.4\$/cm^215x15cm = \$105 = 0.466\$/cm^2 15x20cm = \$130 = 0.433\$/cm^220x20cm = \$130 = 0.325\$/cm^2`

It seems you pay the least for the 10x10 boards, or 0.25\$ per cm^2 for 10 boards, so 0.025\$ per cm^2 per board, next is 20x20 at 0.325 then all the rest,,
best regards FIlip.

I've graphed this here: http://goo.gl/eHrNL and there are some strange anomalies like that 10x10 is soooo much more value for the money than the rest of the sizes in 10-quantity.

And that 5x10 is the same total cost as 10x10 in 10qty but when going to 100-qty the 10x10 is double the cost compares to 5x10 as it should be.

That's correct - the smallest fit for a 3x7 design would be the 5x10 pcb. And you will be getting 10 copies of that board for \$24.90 plus a few dollars for shipping.

You don't need do to the boards rectangular. Any shape, rectangular with soft corners, a circle or even shaped as a fish or a ninja throwing star is ok and won't cost you any extra - as long as it fits within the maximum width & height of the pcb size ordered.
