Hacker passport stamp

Postby ian » Mon Aug 01, 2011 4:20 am

Here's my thoughts on a stamp.

stamp.png

It will be 1.5x1.5 to fit the hackerspace passport. Actually the top and bottom boxes on the HSPP are not even close to the same size :)

I referenced the Schiphol airport stamp. The line at the bottom is to sign or date. With some boxes to check, cause that seems cool.

I'm looking for ideas for the letters next to the box, some inside references, anything you think would be interesting. It has to go out today if it is back for CCC, so speak up :)

How about some codes for the continent where event was held? EU for Europe, AS for Asia, AM for Americas etc. You can write the event name to another line or just change that line maybe?

Nice idea. I forgot to add event line to this mock-up, but it has the continents.

I like how "NA" and "SA" are right next to each other and form "NASA" :D

How about moving place checkboxes towards the top, to the empty areas? Maybe "Via" line too? This way you can make "@" line (and others too maybe) bigger.

Great idea, or around the sides.

This looks good printed at resolution.

I want somewhere to initial and put the location. The @ line is for location, but I think it might look too busy. If I put it horizontal it isn't very long.

That is the one I ordered. I got 1.5" square stamp from here:
http://orders.rubberstamps.net/ProductD ... WOODSTAMP6

Everything was online. They were only $10 bucks each, $6 world-wide shipping. Cool. I got two, if it works well I'll get something more complex, or custom for each event. This is as good as I could do with zero time before CCC.

There are right up the road from us in Bettendorf Iowa too.

Illustrator file attached. It's also in SVN in the artwork folder.

Are stickers alowed in the passport? Or even vintage stamp like poststamps, with real glue on the back :D
