OBLS board without USB

Guys, is there a design of OBLS without USB? As I understand, the USB connection limits the amount of samples we could take.

A board designed as a ExpressCard/54 (tipically found in thinkpads, and some older laptops) can connect in a PCI Express mode.

Has anyone tried this?

The limit is due to the amount of SRAM inside the FPGA.
PCI Express will not be able to increase the size of the FPGA.
