My first order came in - Perfect

Just wanted to share, my first order just arrived and it looks awesome. 11 boards for price less than i would pay my local FAB for one.

Just the cutout is little bit funny, the board outline was rectangular, no cutout, but there was nothing else in that space (no solder mask on both sides and no copper per BLE112 datasheet) and they decided to cut it out completely. It is no problem, just looks a bit funny.

I'm wondering why they made the cutout. Was there anything in your outline file beyond the rectangular shape of the board?

Perhaps it is in the symbol for the BLE112, perhaps post your outline gerber?

I Wouldn't call it perfect :D

I think as TomKeddie says there is prolly something ended up in the outline file. For the price I would say the boardhouse (and certainly not dirtypcbs.com) just produces the pcb as is (with some checks if it is really doable/producable)

The gerber files look good, there's nothing that would indictate that this piece should be cut out. There's only one possible problem with your gerbers: The board outline should be available on **all** layers.

If you open the file with gerber viewer, there is clearly something not ok with it.

The "cutout" rectangle is present in the top & bottom mask layers, and not present in the top copper layer (that is, it's excluded from the pour on that layer).  There is nothing to specifically show that this rectangle should be a routed cut in the gerbers, but one might see how a rushed board-house worker might see this area and think "they obviously want this area routed out but forgot to put it in the outline" :-/

I note that your file names have a "double extension", you provided (in the zip above at least) this filename "epaperle-Edge.Cuts.gml" perhaps the board house has problems with double extention file names, perhaps next time call it "epaperle-Edge-Cuts.gml" instead.

As far as I know, and as far as I have provided to DirtyPCBs in the past without issue, the outline should only be in one file, which is named with file extension GML/GKO/GBR
