This project use the PIC32MX564F128H

I still have several PIC32MX575F512H and PIC32MX795F512H from old projects, would those two devices compatible with this project? They are running at the same speed, same pin counts, just a bit more ram and flash
Are there any 1:1 scale PDF-files or similar for cut-outs and holes for the front and oled PCB's?
There are 3D models on the page 120. You can use FreeCAD to view, measure or print.
Extracting from the archive is tricky, so strictly follow the instructions in the post to unpack it.

Try to recompile the firmware for those targets, if it goes well, give it a try.

I just stumbled upon the unisolder project, but when I went to download the BOM file an upload it I could not get it to work.  What do I need to do? Or can someone link a working bom file I can use to upload, an what site to use, to order the components?

There are multiple BOMs in this thread (for Mouser, TME, etc), one with links is https://github.com/5N44P/unisolder-notes

Try arrow.com, they are basically aggregator from different shops.

Alright thank you man, I'm not sure if it's because I'm on my phone or if I'm just missing it but I'm lookin for a Farnell bom.  Also do you have a guess at which of the 155 pages might have a Farnell bom?

There's no bom anywhere which you can easily upload at Farnell or anywhere else for that matter. You need to put in some research and effort yourself I'm afraid. A good starting point is the Github page referenced by Salavat.

You could try searching))). There is 'search' field on thread page (not sure whether you phone could do), try 'FARNELL' , you get all the posts where farnell was mentioned, may be there is a BOM. But.. as Doomedahab mentioned, if you try to upload the whole BOM, you'd have to edit few fields manually, so there is no such BOM which leads you to the BUY button directly.

Arrow.com seems to be most versatile search tool for the parts, but different packages, order terms etc will pop up for manual review.

Tried flashing the firmware, mplab ipe does not recognize my knock-off pickit2.
I've gotten a couple of cheap pic IC's with the intention of learning how to program them and use for digital audio etc..
Would it be worth getting a genuine pickit, or is the problem elsewhere?

There was also a high pitch sound from the unisolder boards or transformer...sort of like coil-whine.

I did try flashing the firmware before getting the buzzer populated...does that matter?

As I've had to get most parts in quantity, I ordered an extra set of PCB's should this build fail(I'll get a pre-heater station tomorrow making hot air soldering less of a strain on the components).

I can build most things...software and flashing firmware etc...not my area of expertise. I have gotten a couple of audio-widget board working, that's about it.

Clone pickit3(or 3.5 like in my case) works too.

I heard whine when I forgot to switch my multimeter from current measuring mode into voltage measurement (basically I shorted output J with 3.3 from power supply board).

It's probably from the OLED board (C71 particularly). I had this too. I've tested caps from several manufacturers and find that Samsung cap (CL31A106KAHNNNE) produces lesser noise and lower output voltage ripple. Now it's barely audible.

Getting close to the finish line!  I just need to properly ground  all panels, plus I am still waiting for the USB adapter. Thanks Tony for the inspiration for the case and tip holder! I used a steel 10x10 cm profile. Front and back panel are from Schaeffer, display is a 2.42" from Aliexpress, buttons are Aliexpress as well. I love how they are a nice match, I was lucky to stumble across them.

You can use pickit2 with pic32prog utility. I programmed the Unisolder MCU with my PicKit 2 before I got pickit 3.

Hey
Great UniS, I'm impressed! Unbelievable that you have built such a great machine! Please, the links to the buttons are very neat. How does UniS look like inside?
