dead after update?

hi.
i get this thing for remote control my AC
arrived, connectet, driver ... search the web, okay download the "USBIRToy.package.v22.zip" and okay found with COM Port.
Trying WINLIRC, allways great things come without any documentation, allways closes the dos box while reading the remote.
But finaly looks like it got it. Trying to send commands with WINLIRC - hangs, must end it with taskmanager.
trying and trying ... reread the remote, sucks.
Then found in the archive the program "IRToyRecPlay" - should receive end send it again?
Starting that. tells me to update the firmware. Readmy says, just start the .bat (yes and short these two pins on the pcb)
short the pins, connect usb, found, I take the newest in the archive (update-USBIRToy.v22.bat) it was updating and then?
Okay safe way, waiting a moment... disconnect from usb, remove the short, reconnect to usb, yellow led is on and on and ... nothing happens anymore. Disconnect and reconnect and on other computer, nothing found by OS. But OS makes stupid things, needs extrem long time to reboot/shutdown, when it was connectet. So it finds something? Hardware searching - endles time, butr nothing.

I pack it away, wrote to the shop where I bought it, told me to write here. Now done.

I just connected it to usb, the led flashes for a very very very short time (just close to you can not see it) but nothing more happens. Nothing in the hardware, nothing any thing.
Shorting the pins, connect to usb, led is on, no hardware found by os.

Whats that now ... ?
