OS X 10.7 can't see Bus Blaster

Hello,

I've downloaded and installed the proper FTDI drivers and even libusb open source drivers and I am unable to connect to the Bus Blaster using urJTAG, which I compiled with the FTDI option and it seems to work without trouble. Using the "cable" command doesn't work using any of the options.

It seems my problem is either drivers (which I think I've done correctly) or compiling the program (which I also think I've done correctly). Is this a OS X platform problem that I'm oblivious to? Any hints for what to look at again?

Thanks for any help!

Hi LeftASlide - Does the hardware appear correctly under your hardware list? If it does not appear maybe the hardware is defective and should be replaced. If it is working, them maybe running the selftest program (sorry, windows only) will verify the functionality. If those things fail, I would suspect the urJTAG compile was not happy somehow.

Here is the test instructions:

Files (and source) should be in the latest source download:

I do'nt use OS X, but I use Linux Opensuse 12.2, and because OS X, are based on Darwin, which is a derivative of Unix, like Linux, then they are very similar.
Yesterday, I downloaded the propietary libraries and drivers from the FTDI website, and recompiled urjtag to use the libraries ftd2xx. I must have installed it in the proper directory, with the symlinks.
I used this option, and the configure script detected the ftd2xx libraries:

./configure --enable-cable ft2232 --with-ftd2xx

You can build openocd, using the Linux guide:

Yes, the BB does show up in the device listing.

No, the ./configure command does not work as I get the following result:
checking build system type... Invalid configuration `ft2232': machine `ft2232' not recognized

Pretty sure something isn't configured correctly in the build, but unsure how or what to change. Maybe someday this will be more plug and play.

Look for the BB to be on eBay later this week.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, thank you for the update.

Please do follow up with the urJTAG developers so they know there is a problem in the project, I'm sure they'd appreciate the bug report.
