Looks good vimark,

Can you please make a few updates:

*headers aligned in single row (even if it breaks grid)
*thicker traces to/from LED
*a few more VIAs in high current areas
*labeling on the top layer
*Please increment the version of v3. I think it will be easier to say "this case is for v3", we won't get questions like "it says v2.5, does v2 fit as well?" :)

I'm very happy with the board, it is looking great.

USBIRToy v2.5(3) updates

-aligned ICSP header and UART to align with Expansion header's first row, reposition header labels
--ICSP (16.03, 33.27), UART's first pin (24.92, 33.27), Expansion header (42.7, 32)
-change the 2X2 header to a 1X4, since theres more room
-the LED art line on LED package should be 6 not 16 (I should change it on the wiki too)
-change width traces to 20mil on TX LED connections
-board name size (DP6037) moved to the back
-put some texts on top side of the board
-change version to v3
-zoom unrouted: checked ok
-DRC-Sparkfun: no error

cheers

vimark,

Nicely done.

You'll probably want to rename the USBIRtoy file names from v2.5_201202xx to v3_201202xx prior to release.

The three electro-optical components (TX, RX, and RX2) violate the 1.7 mm board edge component keepout.
ian will have to tell you whether he feels the position of these components should be changed.
I was thinking that a board edge style enclosure would be a natural choice for this type of design
(which to me suggests moving the electro-optical components would be a good idea).

Thanks for your time.

oh yeah I forgot to change the filenames, I'll change it when we make the gerbers. Thanks.

Thank you dsm,

updates:

-move components (TX, RX, RX2) inward as to not fall within the 1.7 keepout distance.
TX (7, 11), RX(5.5, 8.5), RX2 (3.5, 26)
-Made the VCC trace from USB much fatter, and also the traces to TX
-Aligned ICSP, UART and Expansion headers (Sorry I thought you dont like it to be on the same header)
