I missed the last preorder and have been waiting for the green light on version 3. I can't wait, the bus pirate will find a use in a few projects on the bench here.

I'm up for one if not two.

I've also shown the project to an EE buddy of mine, pehaps a few orders will roll in from there also. It's a great looking and useful tool, why not spread the word?

Thanks for the commitments everyone. According to my Futurama calendar, this Saturday is international talk like a pirate day. If everything works out, Bus Pirate v3 will be available then.

Yesterday the #twatch broke even, freeing the deposit to be used for the BPv3 preorder. The BPv3 article is finished, Seeed has prestocked parts, and in a few days the final bits should come together.

Hi everyone,

Hailing from the Netherlands new to the forum.  Count me in to I really need a buspirate,
trying to figure out a strange serial port for one of the products for my work.  I've exhausted all my options and i'm placing all my hope on the bus sniffers.  So when will it ship?  Really looking forward to start experimenting.

Talked like a Pirate that whole day long :-) but i've seen no Bus Pirate....Do you have a new ETA?

I sent PCBs for a second revision. They should have arrived Thursday at the earliest, and today or tomorrow at the latest. As soon as they pass testing we can organize a group buy.

Exceptional. It's good to hear you're making sure the board is throughly looked over. I can't wait to give the hardware a whirl. Which reminds me, I need to make some cables up right quick.

Ian, off-topic, but may I ask how long it generally takes from the time that you submit the Gerbs and when you have boards in-hand?

@ericwertz - I've been using Seeed Studio to do my PCBs lately. It takes about 5 days to make the boards, and 4-7 days to get to Europe from China.

I have another update. Sorry about the false starts. PCBs were mailed on the 14th, but extra security checks around a national holiday delayed outgoing mail for a week. I figured out how to track the package and it does in fact list the 20th as the departure date from Hong Kong.

Another problem is that the tracking lists the wrong country as the destination. I'm sure Seeed got it right, so hopefully it's just an error in the tracking and not the actual destination.

If the PCBs don't arrive by Monday, Seeed is going to send some of the extras by DHL. Hopefully it comes together very soon now, I'm sorry about the repeated delays.
