V4.1 bootloader firmware flash procedure

UPDATE: Figured out the problem. Correct bootloader v4.1 flash procedure below.
NOTE: This procedure also eliminates the occurrence of the comdlg32 and other errors as the p23qp is no longer needed

Ok so I have the version 4.1 boot and firm on my sparkfun v3 bus pirate. I would like to get the avr programing firmware on there but I'm having some problems getting the firmware to load. From the v4 update procedures I think i have the procedure right but I just want to double check it.

Im using the ds30 loader to flash it, here is my procedure.

1) Plug in the Bus Pirate
2) VT to it and enable bootloader mode by the command $
3) Close the VT
4) Open ds30 and select the correct port and select the correct .hex file
5) Press Download in ds30
6) Unplug the bus pirate and plug it back in
7-Standard) Open a VT and check status
7-STK500-hiZ) Power and VREG light should appear and fevice is ready to flash AVR's

The only thing I can think of is: is the VT terminal still open? How about the normal procedure of placing a jumper on the pins and connecting, does that work?
Got a question? Please ask in the forum for the fastest answers.
