Configuring BPv3 to read from a UART Port on a board

I am trying to attach my BPv3 to a target board and read from a marked UART port with a 6-pin configuration.  I am just getting started in the area of hardware hacking, so I had a few questions about getting started.

Can the BP be configured to talk to the board using a UART protocol?
How do I get started configuring the BP to talk to the board?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi, I moved your topic to the Bus Pirate forum where it might get more attention.

I'm not sure what all 6 pins are (TX, RX, V+, GND, CTS, RTS?), but you should be able to communicate with it.

Connect the RX from the Bus Pirate to the TX of the device, BP TX to device RX, and the ground pins of both devices.

Use the Bus Pirate UART mode (press M for mode menu). Start with the default settings (or use the correct settings if you know them already). You might need to try several speeds to find the one your device uses, but 9600 and 115200 are typical speeds.

Here's the UART mode datasheet:
