Diolan bootloader for Mac OS X ?

Has anybody successfully used the Diolan bootloader to update the firmware in the USB IR Toy from a Mac OS X host?

I downloaded bootloader-0.2.2.tar.gz long ago, but the first thing I noticed is that ./bin/ contains a couple of .exe files.  That's not very promising unless you're on Windows.

Looking very briefly that the source, it appears that Diolan requires libusb - is that installed on OSX by default?  ... or do we need to download and build libusb for OSX first?

Thanks for any success reports.  I just keep using my PICkit 2 to burn the firmware directly, but it would be nice to know how to use the USB bootloader since Ian went to so much trouble to support it.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize they don't include a compile.

Ha, they do include a compile, for Windows!

./bin holds encoder.exe and fw_update.exe

I briefly thought that perhaps they were actually OSX programs with the wrong extension, but hexdump proves they're Windows, because I see the tell-tale "MZ" magic number at the beginning.

I don't have time to embark on the ./configure at 3 am, so hopefully some other Mac person will pioneer.
