The site is now upgraded, thanks to everyone who helped test!
It's time to upgrade DirtyPCBs.com! All previous orders and shares have been imported to a testing version of the site:
http://dev.dirtypcbs.com (http://dev.dirtypcbs.com)
If you have a previous order at DirtyPCBs.com could you please login and check to see if everything looks right?
How to login
The old DirtyPCBs doesn't have a login or account concept, so I imported all the orders based on email address. Your order history and PCBs should all be associated with the email used with the order.
1. If you used the "quick load" address feature of DirtyPCBs and set a password
Login to the testing site (http://http://dev.dirtypcbs.com/login?r=http://dev.dirtypcbs.com/store/pcbs) with your email address and the password used at DirtyPCB.com. You will be prompted to set a username (and possibly password if the old one doesn't conform to new site rules).
2. If you ordered but didn't set a "quick load" password
Enter the order email address into the forgot password box (http://http://dev.dirtypcbs.com/login?r=http://dev.dirtypcbs.com/store/pcbs) for a password reset link.
Things to know
1. Everything on the test site will be wiped prior to the final upgrade. You'll have to do this whole process again after the migration to retrieve your account.
2. The site is not taking orders. It is currently in test mode and attached to a paypal sandbox account, it is not possible to place orders.
3. A new theme is on the way, sorry about that. The old site scripts are coming apart at the seams and the support flow is maddening and overwhelming, we have no choice but to push onto the new software to improve everyone's experience. Until then enjoy the comic sans.
4. This is an upgrade of DirtyPCBs.com. Even though they run the same software and have the same features, orders from dangerousprototypes.com remain separate from DirtyPCBs.com after the upgrade.
My account / messages - 404 page not found
My account /orders - Click on one, get a PHP error in a box below the picture of the PCB (Message: Undefined variable: display_edit_pcb, Filename: views/order.php, Line Number: 162)
Billing address on same page - err... ("Afghanistan Phone: (AF +93)") - I guess ut should be "same as shipping address" or some such.
My account /My PCBs - click on one, ooh, lovely. Is it expected that I can't change the large image to any of the side ones?
My account / My store dashboard - several PHP errors. I'm guessing because I have no store.
My account / Profile - the menu bar vanishes so "browser back" is the only way out
Rest all looks good. I thought this was supposed to be dirty, not better presented than half the websites out there...
Thank you. I will add these all to the tracker.
Glad the orders look ok, I'm apprehensive about the final migration.
Thanks again and also to Sjaak for testing. All the obvious PHP errors have been handled and the live site updated. Some of the other stuff will come a bit later.
Nice to hear, something is going on. Will updates on dirtypcb for profile and store be also implemented in dangerousprototypes ? I assume I have a problem because my profile name is e-mail address.
There will be a way to set the username by next week after we migrate. It will take a while to upgrade the dangerousprototypes.com site because the code base has drifted in the last few weeks a bit, our focus is getting dirtypcbs.com upgraded because both the server and the scripts are falling apart.
I'm getting an odd error in the cart on the new site where it is telling me that a board 9.8 x 10.0 is bigger than 10x10. To compound that, the actual gerbers measure 9.8 x 9.8 both in my CAD package and in DFMNow! I assume it's safe to ignore this?
Also, the layer reports don't seem to work. I just get a link to a zip file which doesn't download.
Lastly, I've spotted a pricing oddity. If you select a 10x10 panel with ENIG finish the cart shows a price of $31.95. If you change the size from 10x10 to custom but keep the sizes 10x10 it only shows $29. Increasing the size to 11x10 and the price goes up to >$40.
Thanks!
The size thing can be ignored if you're certain, we're still working on it a bit. It is only a warning because we have been canceling and refunding about 10% of orders on the "old" dirtypcbs because of over sized boards (like major, 15x30 in a 5x5protopack), and that slows everyone down and sucks for everyone. The warning is just "hey double check". I'll add a tool tip with more info.
The layer reports should be working now too. Please let me know if it is not.
The pricing jumps around because the suppliers change in odd ways around the "protopack" concept. It needs a bit of refinement, maybe cross-quoting 10 and protopacks.
