Hi,
I presume the new site takes zip files like the old one does ????
Any chance there can be a sticky that shows what filetypes are accepted, and what files are required.
Note. As a matter of interest, I tried a KiCAD pcb file, but it was rejected from the new site (I suspect neither the old or new sites take Kicad, which is a shame as KiCAD is gaining a lot of traction)
Info on exporting from both Eagle and KiCad would be helpful...
Exactly the same files are accepted. There are various tutorials that show you how to exports eagle or kicad to gerber. Dirtypcbs has a file for the eagle that does the job, for kicad i dont know.
Uploading an eagle file sounds nice but ut gives no control over your pcb as it assumes which layers you use. Kicad isnt supported btw.
Thanks
I just uploaded Gerber files produced by KiCad and the only thing that I needed to change was the edge cuts layer needed to be .GML instead of .GM1
However, I guess I need to wait for the files to be accepted or rejected by the board house
Thanks
Roger
Hi all,
the workaround is: rename the .gm1 into .gml and you are fine.
Same issue applies if you are using Fritzzing as your pcb editor as Fritzzing is also using .gm1 as edge cut file.
Maybe the dirtypcbs people should simply add the .gm1 to their "white list" of edge cuts layer (as they are already accepting: .gml, .gko and .gbr).

No worries
I realized I needed to rename the file
Unfortunately I failed to export the solder resist layer (as the default in KiCad seems to be to Not Export )
And the old system doesn't warn about potentially missing files
So...
I'm waiting to see whether the boards are usable or not (without the resist layer)
The board is mostly through hole, so it may be functional without the resist layer.
But I know this is totally my fault, and a mistake I will try not to make again.
(Note. I did check in the gerber viewer in KiCad, but the gerber render doesnt look much different whether I have the resist layer or not)
